Congratulations, Jackson!

(He won his hockey game today!)

Lisa and Jayson are scheduled to fly in late tonight. Hopefully they won't have any problems flying in with this crazy cold weather (-40 or so with the wind chill). We've enjoyed being able to spend so much time with Jackson, Mackenzie, and of course Jake. I know the kids are excited to see their mom and dad though!

Day One is under our belt.

And it was a busy day. Started nicely with all the kids not waking up until 7:45 a.m.!! Of course, we started the day with pancakes - what else can you eat at our house? Mackenzie came to church with Maddie and I and look - a dress! They were so good and sooo cute. Jackson and Jason went to rent movies and get some treats.

We had a movie party tonight. Rented "UP". What a good movie.

BAWLED. MY. HEAD. OFF.

Seriously. The kids all thought I was laughing. Sensitive bunch of souls aren't they? We've only gotten through the first half of the movie, the rest is for tomorrow. I can't wait. Better get the damn tissues.

Jackson made this fabulous DVD bag. I was making Christmas gift bags and Jackson wanted to help out. We decided he should make onedto hold all the movies that he rented with Uncle Jason.

Kid's good with a sewing machine. Really.

Is this what a Saskatchewan Engineer does?

Jason used a similar piece of technology in his first car (a white chevette).

That time it was used when (or if) you wanted to signal right or left.

Sigh.

I have a magnet that says "Dull women have clean houses". I think the same must be true for engineers.... Jason is many things (brilliant, creative, thoughtful, perceptive), but tidy he is not.

Tonight I made salmon with rice. The salmon was cooked in maple syrup for goodness sake. I have chosen to NOT be offended by the following:

- Madeleine wearing protective hand gear.

- Jackson saying "This tastes like Sammy and Bosco".

Sigh.

She smiled. But she didn't take a bite. I think she did smell it though...

Last weekend (was it really only last weekend?) Erika and Kole flew out for the weekend.
I'm so glad they came. We hit all the Saskatoon Highlights, including...

LONDON DRUGS! None stop fun and excitement which includes a Kindersuprise egg and a ride on the Bob the Builder truck. Truly a highlight of the trip I think. Maddie and I also introduced Kole and Erika to the "Car Picnic". Kole was pretty dissapointed when it became apparent that it was not Cars The Movie Picnic.

A few days later Maddie loaded up the truck (the bed here) with everything we would need for a trip to...can you guess? Yes, London Drugs.

Ok kids. That's all for tonight. Jayson and Lisa leave for Mexico tomorrow morning. Jackson, Mackenzie, and Jake are staying here for the week. It is 10:23 and they are still up. And I'm pretty sure this doesn't mean everyone is sleeping in tomorrow. Don't worry Lisa and Jayson, we'll get the hang of it by next weekend.

Night Flying

Road Trip

Lisa, Mackenzie, Maddie, and I drove to Regina last weekend to pick up Donna Jean. We went a bit early and met Allison, Tanner and Matthew at the Science Centre. On the way, of course we needed to stop for a pit stop.

Sick Days

Maddie made this little nest for herself. This was earlier in the week when she was moving a bit slower. She seems back to full speed today. I don't think we heard any coughing at all today.

Lisa, Mackenzie, Maddie and I are driving to Regina tomorrow to pick up (GREAT) Auntie DJ. We're going to go early so that we'll have time at the science centre there. Allison, Matthew, and Tanner are going to meet up with us. That'll be pretty cool b/c I'm not actually sure if Tanner and Maddie have even met. Sad but true when we live only two hours away.

And now, it's our favorite time again...

in solitary confinement.

Well, is it still solitary if its just you, a two year old, two beagles, and The Backyardigans? And is it still solitary if you are actually never solitary, especially when you want to use the bathroom?

Maddie has a cough/cold (she's fine, don't worry). But she's sick enough that she shouldn't be at daycare making all the staff and kids sick. Jason, unfortunately, is in Calgary for work. So it's just me hangin' with the Under Two Feet Tall set.

Now I'm drinking "coffee" from small cups with questionable cleanliness. Ugh. Welcome to my pity party. If anyone wants to give me a call GO AHEAD. But be warned, I will cling to the phone conversation for as long as possible....

I have just spent the better part of this evening trying to locate/organize/civilize my office (a.k.a. Where Things Go to Die). So far what I've managed to do is create a huge box of paper to recycle, a smaller box of Jason's crap (oh, I mean precious papers) AND I've also managed to make the part where I sit look good. This way it looks good if I sit in my chair at my desk with my back to the rest of the nightmare. Aren't you glad I shared that?

And yes, my "office" is quite a bit smaller in this house than the last house. But it's big enough for me, and the best part is I can close the doors when company comes...

Kelly - do you recognize the picture in the top right? Ahhh....memories of Big Ears and Thin Walls. And 50 pts to the first person who spots the labels.

Now truly, isn't that phone the coolest thing you've ever seen? I bought it at a garage sale for $2. Works like shit, but damn it looks cool.
