Happy Birthday

Happy birthday Steph.  Welcome to 36, don't worry its not so bad.  I'm not home right now but if I was and if I was organized, I would post a pic of you and me from the good ol  days.  Maybe from a high school party in Jason's basement or something older.  Guess you'll just have to wait until I get home.

to further clarify:

on May 11 post:  click on the "job action" word....that should link you to the news story.

on another note:

5 great things that happened today:

1. I had a good debrief with Morgan.  That was nice.
2. My dog is sleeping on the floor right next to me as always, and Sammy is passed out (quite literally) on the spare bed.
3. Maddie had a great time at her Kindergarten "sneak peek" and b/c I have such a FANTASTIC Sister Wife I was able to be there with her.  Thank you again, Lisa.
4. I had a good heart to heart with a mom client.  Although it was hard and I cried in the car afterward, it reminded me why I do my job.
5. There is cider in the fridge.  When I get all my shit done tonight that will be Good Thing Number Five.

Birds of a feather

Last night Jason took us for a flight.  This is only the second time all three of us have gone but already Madge is so easy with.  I however still need to sip the ginger ale and stare at the horizon.  Hopefully I will get over that eventually.

These pics are sooc,  or should I say soogt.   Straight out of the galaxy tab.  Not too bad actually.

Some people have pointed out my dogs are bigger than they used to be.  This true but I have to be honest and say I take it pretty personally.  Its pretty much the same as saying "gee Jenn you sure are getting fat"

I know that is not the intent but its how I feel.

Having said all that,  it IS true they are getting chubby and here's why:  Saskatchewan is freaking cold in the winter. It is dark in the winter. I work full time and drive 1-2 hrs every day.  I have a preschooler.  All of these facts mean there is no way in hell I'm walking them from November to March.  Not going to happen kids.  I will love them. I will cuddle them. But go outside  in the dark and minus 40? Hells no!

But today I walked for four hours.  I have discovered a new mantra:
When your union gives you "job action "  you should just make participaction

I really wish I could make that old western whistle noise right here.  That's what I'd do.  Yep.  And in would walk that guy.  You know.  The one with the craggy face?  Ahhh, what's his name.  The Good, the bad, the craggy.  That guy.  Million Dollar Baby.  shit, what IS his name?

Obviously not quite the biggest western fan over here.  You know what names are coming to mind?  Bruce Willis and Steven Segual.  WHAT?  Is my brain melting right now?

Wait a minute...I need to look this up on The Google.  Hang on, I'll be right back.

CLINT EASTWOOD!

oh, that was painful.  I'm sorry you had to watch that.

On a happy note - my eye isn't twitching.  (work stress = twitchy right eye)

later kids.

Happy Mother's Day to
my Mother and my Mother in Law

I love you both and appreciate all you have given me.

My Mother's Day:

We have a tradition of going Geo Caching (what the HECK? click here for more) to celebrate the day.

There was a small river crossing....

And some big river watching.

Good thing we had our rubber boots.

Did we find the "treasure". Well, not the true geo cache treasure...but we found lots of our own treasures along the way:
- small white marble
- teeny tiny white flowers
- den of some animal (didn't explore that one too much)
- lots and lots of crocuses
- numbers on a post (I'll blog those pictures later)
- sun burned cheeks
- a wonderful spot to have a picnic and explore

Jason had thought we would find a great "drive in" style place (like Angel's or Peter's in Calgary). We didn't have luck (but we are open to tips b/c we're going out again next weekend). Instead we picked up hotdogs and marshmallows and made a fire in the backyard. I even made a banana boat (Maddie's response when I unwrapped the foil "I'm not eating that junk!")

I had a wonderful day.
Thank you Jason and Madeleine.

I love you both.

I can't quite figure out how I posted things on the "Felty Felt" section last time.  Any hints?  I was sort of hoping to keep that section for all my Felt Perseverations....

Anyhoodle, you'll just have to take a gander here.
I don't know what it is about felt, but as my friend Sarah's mom would say "you just have to know where you get your joy" and for me, it is felt, a needle, and a blanket stitch.

Fer real.

Jason gave me a Samsung "Galaxy Tab" (I'm calling it the G&T instead) for my birthday.  So of course, a cozy was in order.  Keel, no iPad here - made that one for my friend Erika.

The original G&T cozy.  This was when I first discovered needle felting and I got a TEENSY bit carried away.

Coaster for my friend Genny. My favorite letters are capital M, lower case e, and this kind of lower case g.

Morgan - I'm thinking of a little "g" purse for Georgia. What do you think?  Or would she prefer a coaster?? Or a SIPPY CUP COZY?
OMG - A  WHOLE NEW WORLD OF FELT JUST OPENED UP!!!!

Maddie's iPod cozy.  Before you have a heart attack, Madge's ipod is made of paper and is housed in a old case of mine.  Works really great.

My new dark and mysterious ipod cozy (did I tell you? Jason FIXED my water logged ipod!)

A little collection of Personalized Mug Hugs (saw a seller on etsy calling them Java Jackets - I like that too!)  The Peacock one is my current favorite.

This is the prototype for my teapot cozy line.  Emily inspired me to try this out and I have to say I enjoyed it.  Needs a few tweaks, but I tried it out and it does INDEED keep that pot warm.  Who knew?  Where did the felt come from you ask?  From my Great Aunt Hazel's wool car blanket. Upcycling at its finest.

I wonder. . .

Can Bosco come?

Tis the season.

Madge and I are heading out on a garage sale adventure!  we can't wait.  Will we see you there?

Pauingassi Royal Wedding Celebration

(and you thought only Warman knew how to have a good time!)

The goodies for tea.

My favorite is the guy in the top right corner. Yes sir - pinky up, that's how we celebrate "Royal Style"!

Q: Why is your mom serving tea and pastries and celebrating in Pauingassi?
A: That's where she works.

Q: Where the heck is Pauingassi?
A: click here.

(you're gonna want to zoom out...a lot)

Cheers.

Yes, kids. That is indeed a wine glass full of carrot sticks.

Why? Oh I don't know. Maybe the same reason Madge has worn shorts over her leggings Every Day This Week: It was her idea.

p.s. the wine glass is plastic.

Cream Soda Floats

My birthday

When I got to work on Monday after my birthday the sidewalk infront of my parking  spot was decorated with this:

previous post:  a little weird.

Here's why: I discovered (finally) an app for my G&T (Galaxy Tab - great little device, stupid name).  anyway - found an app for Blogger on there so I can blog and check and whateves on my tablet.

the following post was me trying it out.

Grilled cheese sammich time, kids.  Gotta run.

THANK YOU JASON!

Jason just fixed my iPod! You heard right, ladies and gentlemen - the thing was a goner...but he brought it back to life!

Who has two thumbs and the greatest husband ever?  THIS GIRL!
