Winter Storm Warning

Wednesday: no snow
Thursday: not really any snow
Friday: kinda snow
Saturday: holy shit -
SNOW
Sunday:
ok, we're saying "when" now. That's plenty. Yep thanks. We're good now.

These are taken at the entrance of Maddie's daycare. That's from one weekend. We now own a sled and we're gearing up for her birthday party this Saturday. I think even Sarah and Auntie Morgan are going to make a few runs on Blueberry Hill!

There'll be pictures. Oh don't you worry.

Happy Birthday Madeleine!
01.22.10 = THREE years old

We planned to have a tobogganing party for Maddie on saturday. Up until thursday there was really no snow at all. And even not much on friday. Honestly I was worried about having to have a bunch of people at our house if there was no snow, so we didn't invite anyone but Lisa, Jayson, Jackson, and Mackenzie and Auntie Morgan.

So Saturday came and with it the snow. And more snow! It didn't stop snowing. It snowed so much that nobody could come out from the city b/c the roads were too bad. Did we go sledding in all that snow? Nope. Forgot to buy the sled. Oops. So the plan is to have everyone out this Saturday and we'll try it again. We have a great little hill (Maddie calls it Blueberry Hill) just a block or so behind our house.

Maddie is all about Polly Pockets right now. Yesterday she chose "quiet time" instead of nap. She spent 45 minutes alone in her room playing with her "pollies". She didn't stop talking the whole time. Last summer I bought a corner bookshelf at a garage sale (it was a Tuesday afternoon, I was coming back from a Starbucks run. I work near the university and there were about 3 guys sitting on their front yard drinking beer and selling random things from their house. Well, who can turn down a good yard sale??) Anyway, I bought this shelf and we just put it in Maddie's room after Christmas. Well the bottom two shelves are now Polly Pocket Manor. I'm not sure who's enjoying it more.

I found Maddie sleeping in the hallway again last night. I have a feeling she's getting ready to it tonight. Why? Any ideas?

We're BAAAA-AAACK!

And wow did we have a good time!
Jeepers Creepers!

As promised, it was a holiday full of organized chaos, planned spontaneity, and g-rated debauchery. In other words, Morgan and I are the only two people on the planet that can truly talk about EVERYTHING that
happened on our trip!

It was more expensive to eat and drink than shop - so we chose shopping.
(black coffee = $3.5o).
We also celebrated "Free Entertainment Tuesday" (our own holiday).

Not a lot of people on the strip at 9 a.m.

Morgan's Big Win!! ($9)

As part of Free Entertainment Tuesday we managed to find a wedding chapel and get married. At work we are
referred to as each other's "Work Wife" so we both thought it fitting. And very very funny.

Who needs a 5 star restaurant, when you have a
Clarks Outlet store?? Three pairs for the price of one, Morgan was better - finding four (4!) for the price of one. Definitely a trip highlight.

A little background information:

Last night I was putting Maddie to bed. She wasn't very tired but it was getting passed bed time (and I was tired, dammit). So I put her to bed but knew she'd likely goof around in her room for awhile. She usually does this when she asks for the door to be "open just a crack". If she's tired she wants it shut tight tight tight. So I leave the door "open just a crack" and then scamper off to have a bath and relax.

Sometime Later:
I'm upstairs, rummaging around in the spare room (the state of that room these days, "rummage" is about the only word. I think they're coming to film "Hoarders" on Tuesday) So I have the lights on, I'm banging away making all kinds of ruckus. Then I happen look in the hallway. And here's what I find. Cuteness on a pillow. Wrapped in a yellow blanket. Look farther into the photo and you will see Molly's naked form slung across the baby gate. I did not have the baby gate across her door. I think she was trying to keep everyone else in. Looks like Molly made a good effort at escape.

And the stockings were hung on the railing with care...

Christmas Eve: Sprinkling Reindeer food on the front yard.

Sprinkling the WHAT?

Reindeer Food.
This brilliant idea brought to you by my very creative cousin, Shelley. (We gave a pkg to each neighbor at Mom and Dad's - wanted to increase our Santa odds!)

Madge and her new BFF:
Cherity!!

Can you see the love and adoration in Maddie's eyes? Cherity lives next door to Mom and Dad and she came over to play with Maddie several times.

Morgan and I leave for LAS VEGAS tomorrow! So I'm running around, making sure everything is labeled and organized for our Holiday of Spontaneity and Debauchery. Oh, don't sound so shocked. We've already planned several spontaneous activities. Ok, one of them does involve the purchase of Sensible Footwear.

Anyhoodle. I thought I better clear off my camera and look what I found: Pictures from when Jackson and Mackenzie stayed with us. You might remember, they stayed with us when it was -40 (before the bloody windchill) and their (wonderful??) parents were in Sunny Mexico. Yeah, that week.

Um, Mackenzie, you have a little something on your lip.
Yeah.
Yep.
Right there.
Nope, you didn't quite get it all.

Lisa may as well not have packed anything else b/c there was a Ninja Turtle at our house the whole time. Don't worry,
Lis - he only wore them to school twice.

And now Ladies and Gentlemen silence please as I attempt to hang the final decoration on the world's teeniest Christmas tree.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

"Bosco, don't worry about it, you look great in the sweater. Orange is your colour."

"I don't know, Sam. I kinda feel like everyone is watching me."
