The Bunny Hutch
I took a picture from this angle b/c I've managed to pretty much pick off all the candy on the other side. That icing is cement! Jeepers. The only thing tougher is infant cereal dried onto a high chair.
Notice the two bunnies. One lives in the attic? Why?
Well....
Let me introduce Dysmorphic Bunny. This is why he lives in the attic. His cousin is the guy from Goonies.

And seriously people, have you ever (EVER?) laid eyes on a more pitiful creature? A petroleum based hairless cat ladies and gentlemen. And guess who loves this cat to death. Yes, the same girl who brought you PC Catherine. Maybe Mom is right about her being and Aquarius. I can't say I'll be surprised if she grows up to help out the underdogs of the world.
An update on PC Catherine:
She is recovered!! After a lengthy rehab at an undisclosed location in rural Manitoba, Catherine has returned. And the best news? Her head is ON her shoulders! Firmly. She still has a burr hole, but Grandma Pollock (CEO of unnamed rehab place) is working on a hat (since, as you will soon learn, hair would be ridiculous).
Jason's all about this Twitter page that's called "Sh!t my Dad Says". Well, this next post is
"St#ff" my Kid Says"
(mostly it's so Jason and I don't forget these expressions, so just bear with us)
ridiculous - everything (EVERYTHING) is ridiculous these days. For example:
- Grandma Pollock suggested we find someone to make hair for Catherine. Maddie's response "if my baby had long brown hair that would be ridiculous"
- puffy vest today (so cute, could have died it was so cute) - "Take this off! It's ridiculous! It's too puffy!"
ska-betty = spaghetti. Which, btw, is NOT the same as noodles, thank you very much and quit being ridiculous about it.
tah-pay-toes = tomatoes (no matter what we say otherwise)
pupcakes = cupcakes (Josette at the daycare loves this one)
swimsoup = swim suit
I usually tell other people: Don't reinforce when your kid says crazy things - otherwise they'll end up in grade three thinking praeple is a colour (thank you very much, mother). BUT - now I know why people do it. B/c most kids don't make it all the way to grade three saying "more tah-pay-toes please"
by the way, praeple = mauve or lilac (but only in my house apparently)

The Easter Bunny came to Warman
this year...
Here you see Maddie making her "Bunny Hutch" with Grandma and Grandpa B. About a week before I was talking on the phone with mom and out of the blue she says "We bought a bunny hutch that Maddie can put together with Grandpa".
Silence on my end as my heart stopped in horror. Were they REALLY giving her a damn bunny for Easter? Seriously?
Imagine the relief when I realized the hutch was made of COOKIE.
Easter Morning:
"Grandma, lets put the blinds up so the Easter Bunny can see us"
- blinds go up -
---pause---
"What colour is his car?"
Behind the scenes: there were no hidden eggs when Maddie woke up. Why?
Four reasons:
1. She is the first to get up.
2. I'm not setting my alarm just to hide eggs.
3. We have two (2) beagles. One of which I swear has Pica.
4. Chocolate is a very bad idea for dogs. We learned this at Christmas.
So...
Maddie went with Grandma and Grandpa to Blueberry Hill (hill behind our house) to look for aforementioned Bunny. They missed him though b/c he stopped by our house while she was out. Luckily he had time to hide several eggs on the lawn, in the house, and on the deck. But not until we had kenneled the dogs!
Happy Easter!
