Beach Bums

Maddie spent her first day at the beach. We went to McKenzie Lake with Treena and the boys. We don't have lake access and they are moving at the end of summer so we need to get as much beach time as we can! Maddie didn't mind getting her toes wet at all, but the water was still pretty chilly to do much more than that. I think we should try to get to a pool soon b/c I think she might like it.

And THEN, we went over to the swings - another first for Miss Madeleine! She is so little, I was sure she was going to slip out of one of the holes...

Now, do you believe in coincidence or the opposite of coincidence?

Background info: We sort of have a "Lucky Elephant" thing with Maddie and she has a few elephant items already.
The Story: Near the end of our time at the lake Treena and I were looking for a place to sit in the shade so we could watch the boys play. Treena found the bench and I plopped down. About 15 minutes later Treena spotted this elephant standing RIGHT BEHIND ME.

What is the opposite of coincidence? Fate?

Five Months Old!

This one actually hurts me, it's so FREAKING cute!

Ahh, there's my big girl.
But, do you remember when she was this little?
I don't really...

Jason's first
Father's Day

We celebrated a day early because it's supposed to be really rainy and rotten on Sunday, so we we're hoping today would be a bit better. First we headed to the Aerospace Museum to see all the planes. They have a big display outside, but it is being renovated so we couldn't see it. These pictures are in front of Jason's favorite plane at the museum (a fighter jet of some kind).

Our new friend, Vern, gave us a guided tour and he was very helpful.

After that we went to the airport for a picnic lunch. There is a parking lot with picnic tables where you can watch planes land and take off. The weather wasn't quite warm enough so we ate our sandwiches in the truck.

Seriously, who IS the father of this child?? Such a mystery...

"Happy Father's Day Daddy!"

Thunder is SCARY!

I found Sammy in the bathroom closet yesterday afternoon during the thunder storm.
She's just a sensitive little girl.

Internet? check!
Camera? check!
Blog? check!
I'm back, and currently at full capacity! Thank you, Jason. (again)

Maddie's first wedding! Apparently she loves a good party...

Flying with Daddy.
Maddie and I parked near the runway to watch Jason land. He flies out of a community called "The Air Ranch" - it's a bunch of fancy schmancy houses right on the runway.
Pretty cool concept if you're a pilot - or if you like fancy schmancy houses... Anyway, there is a spot on one of the cul-de-sacs where I can park right in front of the runway and watch him take off and land.

This plane is LITTLE.

A future pilot?
Mom (i.e., Grandma B) and I are both wishing that at least one of them would work for
West Jet soon...

I can't believe The Great Headband Discussion that was sparked from one little barrette. Steph, I'm glad to see that you have seen the light. Bald babies especially don't deserve a giant bow on their head - life is tough enough for them.

Yay! Back online!
but now I can't find my camera...
BIG sigh.

Madeleine and Uncle Britt.
It's all cute until somebody barfs...

Yes, Auntie Lisa - that's a barrette in her hair.
Doesn't it look so cute, Grandma M?? (Don't worry, Grandma B is on your side!)

The Rest of the Story...
(courtesy of Lisa)
And this is a picture of Jason taking a picture of Lisa taking a picture of him. Still related, but you'll notice that this one is centered (just as I thought...)

Still no computer upstairs, so I'm restricted to what I can find down here in Man Land. Sigh.

Sigh.

The Internet on my computer isn't working (again). So I came down here to see what pictures Jason had on his computer that I could put on the blog. And this is what I found:

Lisa taking a picture of Jason taking a picture of Lisa. Yes, they are related. (But I think that Lisa's picture was actually centered)

A Whoosy Whatsit.

There are elventy billion of these in Jason's room and throughout our basement. They pop up like mushrooms. There are more pictures of these than pictures of Madeleine on his computer. Anyone surprised?
