packing

We started packing today.  Actually, we've packed quite a bit already in an effort to de-clutter the house, but we are truly PACKING.  Stuff is coming off the walls, boxes everywhere, hands dirty from newspaper.

Maddie and I packed her room, then she went downstairs and packed up her playhouse (the space under the stairs) and other toys with Jason.

Then after supper she was in her room for quite awhile.  Finally she came out and announced she had packed her American Girl's things.  Thought she should get that done now so she wouldn't be rushed later.  (I swear to you, it was something along those lines).  We look over and she has her doll suitcase (given to her by Auntie Treena) and three American Girl boxes.  I peeked after she went to bed.  Sure enough, they are full of her doll's personal items.

oh, and do I need to say that I did not place these boxes for the photo opp? They are as she left them.

Everyday that kid finds a new way to break my heart a little more.  Sigh.

Have 20 minutes you don't want back?  Check out American Girl on youtube....

night night.

high school sweetheart

Anyone recognize this handsome fella?

The other day Jason told me that he doesn't ever check this blog.

Oh really? Hmmm, well isn't that nice.
's ok, just means I can post stuff like this and he'll never know....

Dinner Conversation

Us: We used to eat Sushi all the time. Maddie you should try it. You might like Sushi.

Her: no, I don't like shushi or shrimps

Us: well, at our new house there will be a sushi restaurant just down the street

Her: Well you two can just prance along down there and eat some by yourselves.

FYI

The Markoskys have taken the day off.

I'm watching my neighbor shovel and I think I'm going to need a nap when she's done.

Opinions, please.

Dear Interwebs

I'm taking opinions, comments, votes! Take advantage of this (rare?) opportunity for ME to listen to YOU.

What are you talking about, Jenn?

We are painting our Eastview house but not quite sure to go cream vs. grey (gray?) Can you take a stroll over to my Eastview Pinterest board and have a look see?

But Jenn, I'm not on Pinterest.

Well, other than the obvious question: (WHAT THE HELL DO YOU DO WITH YOUR SPARE TIME? PARENT? HAVE CONVERSATIONS?? Sheesh.) Don't worry, you can still creep on my board without being "on pinterest". Just might make it harder for you to comment.

I've tried to include some pictures of the stuff we will have in that room, or pictures that have the colour of the stuff. For those of you who have been to our basement recently, its all that stuff going into the family room. So dark couches, bright colourful accessories. Dark teal, orange, a bit of pink and lime green. Sounds CRAZY when I type it out, but in my mind it works. So I'm NOT asking for opinions on those colours, just if you think they would look good with grey/gray or cream.

Steph: is it grEy or grAy?

White trim, wainscoting, white fireplace.

GO. (my super secret Pinterest name is Jenn Markosky)

(thanks)

truth

Yesterday I saw this quote on my client's iPad. I can't get it out of my head. It is my mantra this week.

I've been feeling intimidated by a group I volunteer with. It's a ridiculous head game and cognitively I know I shouldn't get sucked in. I shouldn't be intimidated. We all have skills and strengths and I can simply learn from someone else. So that's what I know in my BRAIN, but my (what is that part of you that doubts everything? my mind?) so anyway, in my mind I still struggle to not get sucked in and feel like I am less b/c I blow bubbles for a living.

I am working through it, don't you worry. And this quote is helping.

So.

Hey everybody - it's Jenn's Favorite Stuff Tuesday!

I have two current obsessions and I thought it was my duty to share them with you.

1. Cambozola Cheese. Oh sweet mother of pearl. As far as I can tell this cheese is basically the love child of Brie and that rock star Stilton. MMMM MM. Spread it on a baguette and thank me later. Actually - you should thank Allison. Or curse her. Caution: save this for a group gathering b/c when you are alone with the cheese....frankly you don't stand a chance.

2. Chocolate Philadelphia Cream Cheese. Yes, you heard me. CHOCOLATE. Possibly the greatest thing. Well, second only to #1 above. This might be considered the white trash love child of Phil and Coco. Somebody at work made a face when I told her about it. She said, "what would you put that on?" Um, a SPOON???

Seriously. Do it now.

City Slickers

It's official! We bought a house! I didn't want to post anything until it was official. Until it was really real. Jason and I just signed the papers so it doesn't get much more real than that I guess.

We bought a house in Eastview - a neighborhood near Market Mall. We're really excited about our new neighborhood - lots of trees, families, parks. Close to shopping and our work/Maddie's school. Likely less than 10 minutes to Auntie Lisa's house!

Address is 1109 East Center - feel free to check us out on The Google.

I'm on my iPad so I can't link to a website right now to show you pictures. The basement isn't finished (yet) but they converted the attached single car garage to a family room so there are two living room type spaces on the main floor. Jason will create an office/bedroom/home gym/teen zone downstairs. My favorite part - other than the blue ceiling in the bathrooms- the GIANT mudroom. I've already pinned a billion lockers on Pinterest.

We get possession on March 27 and need to be out of this house by April 1 - so we have about 5 days to clean the house (it needs a good scrub) and get everything moved. Don't worry about avoiding eye contact with me and talking about how your truck is broken - we plan to hire movers.

ok. Time for bed.

Nighty night.
