Back home again after a quick trip to Roblin for Graham's Dad's funeral. It was a really nice service (that sounds lame, but wonderful doesn't seem to fit either). Lots of tributes and music. But even though they called it a "celebration of life" it was still a funeral. And it was still very emotional.
Now we are home and there is a message on my phone. My cousin has cancer. Again. Can I say f### on here? That's how I feel about it. I feel like an absolute shit for not calling her a million times already. I think of her almost everyday but never call. I never call anyone. I hate talking on the phone. Hard to imagine but true. I talked to her awhile ago, but I don't remember when. It's not right. Her daughter is too young to have this much worry. Now she is in hospital and I'm sitting here at home in my pjs. Sometimes the world doesn't make any sense to me.
I shouldn't post this. But I'm pretty sure I will.
Glad you were able to go to Graham's dad's funeral, sad we weren't. Sorry to hear about your cuz. don't beat yourself up though, because whether you call or not, people know you still care about them ~ that's just who you are. xo
ReplyDeleteI totally feel your post. I feel the same way so often. we all put off things because we are busy and tired at the end of the day. All of us in your life know you love us and don't need regular phone calls to feel it. Give yourself a break and know that your cousins are probably feeling the same thing.
